Every year around this time – after Labor Day – the Jersey Shore’s pricey summer weekly rentals turn into monthly winter rentals – and very good deals for people who want to vacation or live on the shore for an extended period in the winter. Extended stay, monthly rentals can start anytime in the off-season from September on and continue to the middle of May. From 3 bedroom houses to condos and studio apartments, they are a cheap alternative to summer rentals. They afford a life at the beach; but you have to be ready to move out in May!
With a winter rental, expect to pay a monthly rent plus utilities – heat, electric, and sometimes cable and water. Leases are signed with a start and end date negotiated between tenant and landlord.
The Jersey shore has a laid back quality in fall and winter months. It becomes a quiet, scenic retreat – with no crowds, and the beach and boardwalk to yourself. There’s still music, bars, entertainment, amusement park games, and special Fall and Holiday weekend events in the north and south Jersey shore towns:-Chowderfest on LBI (Long Beach Island), Fall snd Winter festival’s in Monmouth and Ocean County. And reservations not required for the Jersey shore’s seafood and boardwalk restaurants, except for Thanksgiving and the holidays.
The specifics about these Fall and Winter rentals aren’t always posted on the listings and not all owners offer winter rentals. Owners specify the seasons they rent. So you need to call each owner directly to get the details.
