Fall Weekends at the Jersey Shore – Priceless

Posted on by Jen

There are some that prefer the Jersey Shore off-season. The moment Labor Day has come and gone, the shore has a whole new vibe. Quiet mornings; not so many cars; stretches of   beach with wide open space. Joggers, bikers, dog walkers, beachcombers, retired baby-boomers, and  fishermen are the life of the party off-season.

And for families with kids (or teenagers) wanting an enjoyable weekend getaway with the family – every Fall weekend on the  Jersey shore there are  Festivals and Events, charming and unique.  There’s ChowderFest Weekend on Long Beach Island . Vote on the best chowder recipes with taste tests. This year it’s October 6, 2013.  and at off-season nightly rates.

Wildwood  and  Wildwood Crest vacation rentals – many for large families with small kids- offer Fall Weekend discount rates. Just call the owners to inquire. On September 14th and 15th there’s the NJ State Firemen Convention They have an apparatus and equipment display on Friday across from Convention Hall. And on Saturday the have a parade at 1:00 PM. That’s making memories for families with kids who want to be firemen.

For families with teenagers, Wildwood Zombie Mud Run, described as a “post-apocalyptic 5k race, Morey’s Piers” is staging over the weekend of October 12, 2013.
